Our APP Program

SkiTam The APP has grown significantly due to some amazing companies that support our vision. To date the APP has raised over $1.8 million in support of the athletes of the USAST. The charter of the APP is to:

  • Provide financial assistance to members of the US Adaptive Ski Team (USAST) to cover racing and training expenses not otherwise covered by the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) or SkiTAM.
  • Provide funding for the Victory Incentive Program (VIP), which provides monetary awards to members of the USAST based on their performance in World Cup, World Championship and Paralympic Events.
  • Provide an opportunity for donor companies and their employees to form direct relationships with individual athletes including the opportunity to establish additional business relationships such as branding and speaking engagement contracts.
  • To foster long term relationships between donors and athletes that will serve both groups in many ways.
  • To provide all of the above in a manner this aligns with the goals of the USAST, the Athletes and, of course, our donors, without whom none of this would be possible.

HOW THE APP WORKS

  • The APP solicits donors to support our fundraising goals.
  • The APP facilitates the introduction of skiers and donors in order to foster ongoing relationships
  • The APP, through the APP Committee, works with the USSA, USAST and SkiTAM to establish the APP guidelines.
Donations to the APP not only provide funds used by individual skiers but also fund the VIP and general travel fund, which are accessible to all skiers based on their performance throughout the season. When you donate to the APP, your funds are used to:
  • Reimburse individual athletes for their specific training and racing requirements, within the guidelines established by the APP. This includes items such as training, specialized equipment, medical costs and for travel expenses not covered from other sources. Without this level of funding, many athletes would not be able to continue their racing careers.
  • Provide a general travel fund which is used for athletes selected to attend specific events.
  • Fund the Victory Incentive Program, which is available to all USAST athletes and is based on performance in specified competitions.
